We are currently working with an independent practice that has four branches across Lancashire and Cumbria and is looking for a full-time Veterinary Surgeon to join them on a permanent basis.

The Practice:

This friendly, small animal practice has been accredited Tier 2 RCVS status and between their four surgeries, they are equipped to conduct everything from thorough general health checks right through to major surgical procedures. The practice is fully equipped with state of the art facilities which include an in-house laboratory, ultrasound, ECG, laser, and they have an extensive area dedicated to dogs, cats, rabbits and small furries; whether they are sick, injured or recovering from surgery. There are 43 employees across the 4 practices which include 11 Vets and 9 RVNs. The team see themselves as a big part of the local community and do a lot for charity plus school visits.

The Role:

This is a full-time position working 37 hours per week over 4 days. Shifts will be 08.30-18.30 for 3 days and 08.30-19.30 for the remaining day. There is a rota of 1:9 weeknights on call and a weekend on-call rota. There is some branch work to cover holidays. The Candidate:

Ideally, you will be an experienced Vet but our client will also consider a newly-qualified graduate. You should be confident in conducting your own consultations and have some surgical experience. Good communication skills and the ability to get on well with the rest of the team is essential.
