Are you ready for a new challenge? Do you enjoy mentoring/supporting others? Do you want to work in a practice where you can really make a difference?

We are working with a well-equipped, small animal veterinary practice with a varied caseload that is looking to recruit a Senior Veterinary Surgeon to join their team on a full-time permanent basis.

The Practice:

Our client has a well-equipped, small animal veterinary practice with a varied caseload. Their facilities include spacious operating theatres, Dental machines, Digital x-ray, Digital ultrasound, and air-powered orthopaedic equipment.

They predominantly offer care to small animals but do a lot of work with local charities and rescues so often see wildlife including birds, ducks and hedgehogs too! They currently run K-Laser clinics for all clients and offer multiple puppy and kitten offers/appointments for new pet owners!

They currently offer first opinion care but have in the past supported some referral streams/caseloads. They are keen to support your expertise or professional goals and incorporate these services for the practice, so please talk to them about any certificates or interests you may have.

The Role and Candidate:

As a Senior Veterinary Surgeon you will be experienced and comfortable with all aspects of first opinion care. You will be willing to take on a senior role within the site and you will be a designated mentor for a junior surgeon and be happy to support other team members when needed. As a Senior Vet, the confidence to lead or structure team meetings as well as helping with clinical audits and clinical governance would be great. You will have a very hands-on role and will be able to manage and organise your own caseload.

A good work/life balance is important to our client so they offer a sociable rota, with full or part-time applications being considered

  • 4-day working weeks – (based on full-time hours)
  • Just 1 in 4 Saturdays only
  • No OOHs
  • They actively encourage their team to explore their interests and grow into the vet that they want to be.
