We are working with a growing referral veterinary practice in Wakefield, West Yorkshire that is looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their team of Night Nurses. This role would suit an RVN that is a bit of night owl, who loves inpatient care and has time management as a key strength.
Emerging from a successful referral service, our client will open the doors to its brand new, purpose-built referral centre in Wakefield, offering exceptional patient care with cutting-edge veterinary medicine and addressing key issues facing referral vets in the region. Their extensive facilities will be housed in what will be one of the largest and best equipped purpose-built small animal referral centre in the UK. They share a clear vision, to deliver the best, most caring and highly advanced treatment possible to patients and their owners in the North of England. Their state-of-the-art facilities are situated in pleasant, clean surroundings allowing the highest level of care, providing a high level of service to the client.
Their new facilities will include Digital imaging department, fixed 1.5T 18 channel MRI whole body scanner, 16 slice CT scanner, X-Ray and fluoroscopy, Endoscopy, Ultrasound and electro-diagnostics, operating microscopy, 24 hour intensive care facilities, 5 Ultra-hygienic operating theatres, 8 consulting rooms, spacious and comfortable waiting room with a separate cat waiting area.
They are committed to providing a multi-disciplinary referral service for patients, their owners, and referring vets. Their disciplines will include; Anaesthesia, Cardiology, Dermatology, Diagnostic Imaging, Internal medicine, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedic Surgery, Soft Tissue Surgery.
The Candidate and Role:
This role is for a highly motivated, proactive individual that can ‘think outside the box’, whilst remaining calm and positive. Working closely with other personnel at all times is essential in order to ensure the smooth running of the wards and kennels in OOH care.
This exciting opportunity has arisen to join or clients night team, with the exact working pattern to be discussed at interview. This would suit an individual who’s a bit of a night owl, loves inpatient care and has time management is a key strength.
Your key duties will include:
- Providing the highest standard of nursing care to all patients
- Take a lead role in monitoring and recording patient stats
- Excellent interpersonal skills with your night team
- Deal with any day to day challenges that may arise
- Assist with stock rotation and stock takes where necessary
- Deal with emergencies and critical care with inpatients
- Assist with patient handovers and liaising with owners
- Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene
You will be a dedicated and compassionate RVN that will enjoy working in a hardworking, supportive team that is willing to go that extra mile. Previous experience of nursing within a referral practice is not essential.
