We are working with a large, progressive independent practice in Surrey that is looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join them on a full-time permanent basis. Our client has 4 branches in the area and this position is flexible at this time as to if you work in their busy main branch or to be to part of the branch working if preferred.
Our client is proud to be an independently owned group that prides itself on providing traditional and personal service to their clients whilst using the latest styles of thinking, equipment, level of care and treatments.
Their small animal vet team has wide-ranging experience and specialist interests. Orthopaedics, cardiology, anesthesia, soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, behaviour, laser therapy, acupuncture, and animal welfare are just some of their areas of expertise.
They are fully equipped to carry out surgical and diagnostic procedures which include laparoscopy, digital x-ray, portable dental x-ray, laser unit, endoscopy, ultrasound, laser unit and more.
This is a full-time permanent role, which has become available due to the steady growth of the practice. The practice pride itself on their healthy work/life balance and you will benefit from their 7-hour working shifts (35 hours per week) and a 1:11 OOH rota.
Weekday nights Mon-Thurs (approx. 4 sets a year): 6.45 pm - 8 am (although new day rota means day staff comes in at 7 am allowing night staff to finish early).
Weekend nights Fri/Sat/Sun (approx. 4 sets a year): Fri: 6.45 pm - 8 am, Sat 7 pm - 8 am, Sun 6 pm - 8 am. Obviously no day work. Same system as above.
You will also be part of the weekend rota of the practice, which is on a 1:11 week rotation (approx. 5 sets a year).
Sat: 8 am - 7 pm: Vet consults 9 am - 12 pm and nurse 11 am - 12.15 pm. The remainder of the work is dictated by any emergency calls and inpatient care. They only provide OOH to their own clients.
Sun: 8 am - 6 pm; Vet consults 10 am - 1130 am. All rest the same as above. Only 1 vet and 1 nurse working.
They operate on consults times of 15 minutes and you will need to be comfortable with occasional sole charge. There will also be some branch work required so you will need to be able to drive and have access to a vehicle.
In return, our client is offering an excellent package that includes:
Competitive Salary (DOE)
CPD encouraged and funded
RVN/VDS/BVNA fees paid
Company Pension Scheme
Our client is looking for a forward-thinking and motivated nurse to share their varied caseloads including laparoscopy, advanced soft tissue surgery, orthopaedics, imaging, laser therapy, and nurse clinics. They have a high standard of inpatients and clinical care and are looking for an RVN that shares their level of service. They are very supportive of staff that want to further their knowledge and skills.
So if you are looking for a supportive practice where you can thrive, progress in an environment where your opinions are listened to, this could be the practice for you.
