We are currently working with an independent practice based in Watford, Hertfordshire, who are looking for a confident and enthusiastic RVN to join them on a full time, permanent basis. Our client has a large and interesting caseload each day that includes dogs, cats, and some exotic species. This position would suit an RVN looking to fully utilize their nursing skills and really make a difference.
This is a long-established practice in the heart of Watford, offering Small animal, Farm and Equine veterinary care to the local community. This is an independent practice and plan on remaining this way. Services offered include consultations, Vaccinations, Euthanasia, Passport, in-patient care, Microchipping, Nurse clinics, Behavioural therapy, Out of hours care, Pharmacy and surgical procedures in their fully equipped operating theatre. This role is to join a large, busy, independent and forward-thinking Small Animal team with a patient-focused ethos.
This is a full-time permanent position where you will be working 38 hours per week, which will include 1 in 4 weekends and 2-3 Bank Holidays per year (with a lieu day given for each BH worked). The weekday hours are between 08:00-16:30 with 1 longer shift each week from 08:30-20:00, the working hours are sociable and include 3 weekdays off per month.
They have a dedicated night team to care for in-patients and use Vets Now for emergency OOH work.
The nurses in this practice play a large and valuable part by working closely with the vets to ensure the best possible care is given to patients. They are a training practice and pride themselves on ensuring that all of the nurses are trained to a very high standard. This position includes working in theatre, hospital ward, and pharmacy departments as well as administering nursing consultations with clients and providing student nurse training.
In return, our client is offering a starting basic wage of £22,000 p/a (DOE) plus overtime (All overtime is paid in addition to basic hours with double time on Sundays and Bank Holidays).
CPD is funded and special nursing interests are encouraged and supported.
Applicants should have good practical skills and an ability to use initiative when working alone or as part of a team. Our clients' nursing team is very supportive and can provide extra training for new tasks or if you are looking to return to veterinary nursing after a break or just beginning your Veterinary Nursing career.
