We are working with a lovely Veterinary Hospital in Northampton that is looking for an experienced small animal Veterinary Surgeon to join them on a full-time permanent basis. This role would suit a candidate with 3-4 years post-graduate in practice experience, an interest in medicine would be a bonus.

The Practice:

The practice has strong team values and actively supports continuous progression for their team through CPD, internal mentoring, as well as internal promotions. The practice is an RCVS Accredited Veterinary Hospital with facilities including:-

  • Digital Radiography
  • Blood Analysis
  • Full Surgical Facilities
  • Ultrasound Diagnosis, Endoscopy, and Laparoscopy
  • Orthopaedic and BOAS Surgery
  • Dentistry including dental X-Rays

The Role:

You will be working 4 days per week (40 hours), working shifts 08:30-18:45. You will also be part of the weekend rota, working 2 in every 8 weekends 08:30-17:00 consults only. The out of hour requirements are covered mainly by Vets Now but you will be required to do inpatient care and this is on a rota basis as follows:

1:8 weeknight inpatient duties 14:00-20:00 (inpatient care but no phones after 22:00)

1:8 weekend duties 08:00-20:00 Saturday and Sunday (inpatient care but no phones after 20:00) with a long weekend off the weekend after.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon with 3-4 years post-graduate in practice to join an expanding team. You will be an experienced and enthusiastic Vet who wants to continue to develop your skills and progress in a thriving company that has lots of new opportunities emerging. You will be a team player with a positive attitude to learning and developing, with a great approach to giving and receiving support. An interest in medicine would be a bonus.

Ideally, you will have a good consulting experience, upselling of Health Plans, good ability to offer gold standard diagnostics, and surgical experience for routine procedures,
