We are working with a 24-hour hospital in the Wokingham area, who is looking for a client-oriented small animal Veterinary Surgeon to join them on a full-time permanent basis. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2-3 years post-graduate small animal practice experience.

The Practice:

They have a wealth of experienced veterinary surgeons, including certificate holders in Exotics, Cardiology, Dermatology, Ophthalmology, and ECC. They also have a highly experienced Laparoscopic Surgeon. Their mission to deliver progressive, around the clock care means their employees have the very best equipment and treatment options available, including in-house MRI machines and state-of-the-art operating theatres. They provide ongoing support to their teams, both in practice and through a dedicated training centre. This empowers you to get the very best from their advanced equipment while being on your journey to veterinary excellence.

The Role:

This is a full-time permanent role working a shift of 08:00-19:00 or 09:00-19:00, longer is the maybe required during annual leave cover. It will include a weekend rota of 1:6 full weekends or 1:3 half weekend.

The clinic is the central hub of a close-knit group of 9 other practices including multiple certificate holders and a well-established client base. The branch sees a very mixed caseload, usually at least one orthopaedic case a day, several ultrasounds a week both for out and in-patients and the usual mix of medical cases.

The Candidate:

The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years post-graduate small animal practice experience and must have a client-oriented approach and excellent communication skills, work to a very high standard both medically and surgically. You must have the ability to lead and manage hospital cases both surgical and medicine with the support of branch partners (orthopaedic and imaging specialists). Our client offers excellent long-term prospects for the right candidate, with the advancement in skills and specialism actively encouraged.
