We are working with a practice in Abingdon, Oxfordshire that is looking for an enthusiastic small animal Veterinary Surgeon to join them on a full-time permanent basis. They are looking for a vet with a minimum of 3-4 years post-graduate experience as you will be the senior vet in the practice.
This is an established practice that provides the highest quality veterinary services to their clients 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. This well-established practice is one of five in the group and is the primary centre for surgery.
The practice offers the latest state-of-the-art equipment, to ensure prompt diagnoses and the most effective treatments. Their surgery has been designed to industry-leading standards and has state of the art equipment including in-house operating theatre and laboratory, digital x-ray, specialist dental equipment and much more. Their highly trained veterinary surgeons and nurses are kept constantly updated on the latest innovations and protocols. They offer a full range of treatments from health checks to emergency operations and they are always committed to providing exceptional veterinary services.
This is a full-time permanent position with working 4 days a week and no out of hours, as this is covered by a dedicated night team. The working shifts are Monday-Friday 08:00-19:00, Saturday 08:30-18:00 and Sunday 09:00-18:00. The weekend rota is 1 full weekend and 1 Saturday in 7 weeks. There will elements of sole charge as you will be the senior veterinary surgeon in the practice.

You should be a confident surgeon with general surgical and medical skills, capable of working sole charge. You will be passionate about providing excellent service and working as part of a highly-skilled team. You will also enjoy a variety of cases and have the ability to work these up to a high standard. Enthusiasm and energy are a must, as is a willingness to communicate with colleagues and clients, in the best interests of your patients.
You will have a minimum of 3-4 years of post-graduate experience in practice.
