We are working with a mixed veterinary group in the Pembrokeshire area that due to expansion is looking for two ambitious and energetic full-time small animal veterinary surgeons the join them on a permanent basis. You will be joining their well-equipped practice in Haverfordwest.
You will be joining our clients' independent mixed veterinary practice, where their goal is to provide a caring and friendly professional service. They are located in Pembrokeshire, surrounded by beautiful beaches, country walks and the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, they are very much a rural practice. Their main small animal surgery in Haverfordwest, offers surgery, dentistry, internal laboratory, ultrasound, radiography and endoscopy. Another of their branches has an internal laboratory, dentistry, and surgical facilities and is the site of the aquatic treadmill for hydrotherapy.
Although rural, they pride themselves on providing a first-class small animal service, being able to practice excellent medicine with great clients. Their small animal client base does have a bias towards dogs, but they see plenty of cats small furries and the occasional exotic and bird.
The Role and Candidate:
Your main work would include routine consultations, diagnostics, and surgical procedures. They aim to give all small animal vets a share of the surgical workload with the most complex surgery being conducted in-house by an RCVS AP in Small Animal Surgery.
They encourage and fund CPD and the development of clinical interests., and they currently have 2 vets that are studying towards certificates, and others training in behaviour and acupuncture. For a new graduate, they offer the GradstoVets Programme, which includes coaching, a mentor and your first year’s CPD.
This is a full-time role where you will be working 4.5 days a week with a combination of early finishes (13:00 once a week), standard finishes (17:00) and later finishes (19:00 on your night on-call). The practice covers their own out-of-hours, and the successful candidate will bring our number in the rota up to 87.
They are a friendly and experienced team of vets and staff who will be able to provide you with the support you need to develop your skills whilst working in this busy practice, allowing you some choice in your clinical pathway.
