We are working with a client based in Prudhoe, Northumberland, who is hoping to recruit a full-time Registered Veterinary Nurse to join them on a permanent basis. Our client is a small independently owned practice based in beautiful Northumberland, they are a mixed practice that is looking to recruit a registered and fully qualified Registered Veterinary Nurse. They are a small team consisting of 3 vets, 2 vet nurses, 3 receptionist/auxiliary staff and a practice/personnel
manager. They are a tier 2 small animal practice and their work ratio is around 70% small animal, 20% equine and 10% farm. Their facilities and services include:
- Full health checks
- Surgical and diagnostic procedures
- Pet passports
- Blood tests
- In-house laboratory
The Role and Candidate:
Our client is looking for a likeminded Registered Veterinary Nurse who is a true team player willing to “muck” in across the board including but not limited to opening up, cleaning, answering the phone, booking appointments, closing up as well as all the regular veterinary nurse duties. You will need to be motivated, extremely well organised and able to prioritise your own workload. As our client puts the emphasis on the “friendly practice” and not “maximum profit” you will need to have good people skills, be caring and understanding whilst also being open and honest at the same time.
The current hours are 38 hours per week Mon 8.15-16.00, Tues 14.00 -19.30 (subject to review), Wed 8.15 – 17.30, Thurs 8.15-16.00 and Fri 8.15-16.00pm. They may consider a part-time/job share.
This role includes the Health and Safety role
This is a permanent vacancy and you will be entitled to 5.8 weeks holiday per year (pro-rata for part-timers/part-year). You may be required to cover some holidays however they are very well organised and these are notified well in advance. During these periods you may work extra - you will be paid when covering extras for holidays and accrue holidays accordingly – wages will be negotiable depending on experience. Newly qualified vet nurses are encouraged to apply.
