We are currently working with a friendly independent veterinary centre in Northampton that is looking for a committed, enthusiastic, and hard-working Registered Veterinary Nurse who is a strong team player that is keen to improve their surgical skills. This is a full-time role covering a full range or surgical practices.
This independent practice has 3 branches in the area of Northampton. Their highly qualified and experienced team use the most up to date diagnostic tools and tests available to veterinary medicine today and strive to offer the very best treatment options for each case. Round the clock in-patient care is provided by their dedicated veterinary and nursing team.
This practice offers a wide range of services including a 24-hour emergency service to ensure patients are getting the best care
Our client is looking for a full-time permanent RVN to support their existing surgical and first opinion teams. You will be working Monday-Friday with a mixture of early and late shifts and will include a weekend rota of 1 in 4 with time given off in lieu. Bank holidays are worked on a rota basis.
This position includes emergency work, critical care nursing and the opportunity to assist in a range of surgical procedures, advanced orthopaedics (total hip replacements, TPLOs, fracture repairs), MRI/CT scanning, and nurse clinics including rehabilitation appointments. There will also be the opportunity to become a Clinical Coach.
In return, our client can offer a competitive salary of between £19,000-£21,000 p/a (DOE), plus benefits including monthly in-house CPD, an annual CPD allowance of up to £500, pension scheme, staff discount (after probation) and opportunities for progression within their team of 35+ nurses.
The preferred candidate will be a committed, enthusiastic, and hard-working RVN who is a strong team player keen to improve their surgical skills. A full driving licence is needed as you may be required to drive the practice ambulance to collect animals. Applicants should also be fit enough to cope with the physical demands of the role – lifting/restraining animals and cleaning.
