We are working with a small group of small animal practices based in the Solihull area of the West Midlands that is looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join them on a full-time permanent basis. The ideal candidate would have at least one year's post-graduate experience and be competent in all nursing skills.

The Practice:

Our client has been established in the West Midlands for over 70 years and they currently have three sites in their group. All of their surgeries offer a full range of routine veterinary care that includes consultations, vaccinations, neutering, microchipping to name but a few.

Their hospitalisation facilities include walk-in kennels for bigger dogs, an isolation area for infectious cases, separate cat ward, incubators for extra warmth and oxygen and vivaria for more exotic patients.

The operating facilities allow them to perform a range of surgery from routine neutering procedures to complex repairs of broken bones. They are proud to have one of the most advanced in-house laboratories in the country run by an experienced lab technician with vet nurse support.

In addition, their modern digital X-ray equipment and Ultrasound machine provide essential information to make a diagnosis.

Their large team includes 12 vets, 25 nurses and 14 support staff that all work together in a supportive and friendly environment.

The Role:

This is a full-time permanent role where you will be working 37 hours per week and the rota will include shifts between 08:00-20:00. At the moment there is no scheduled weekend work but you may be required to cover shifts every now and then. There is scheduled no out of hour requirements as this is covered by a dedicated night team, however, you may be occasionally asked to cover for absences.

Your daily duties will include theatre work, laboratory, dispensary, appointments, and some reception work. As there are three practices in total there may be some working between the branches.

The Candidate:

Our client is looking for an RVN with at least one year's postgraduate experience that is competent in all areas of nursing. You will have good interpersonal skills with great communication ability. As you will be joining a large team on RVNs you will have a good attitude to work, be a good team player and hardworking.

This is a very busy practice which would suit an ambitious RVN that is professional and always has the best interest of the patient at the heart of everything they do.

The Remuneration Package:
