Permanent Veterinary Surgeon - Blackpool

We are currently working with an independent practice with two branches in Blackpool and Southport that is looking for a full-time Veterinary Surgeon to join them on a full-time permanent basis.

The Practice:

This is a small independent friendly approachable practice, with a small close-knit team. Their practice is a long-established local business offering veterinary care for the local communities' pets. They believe in providing caring, friendly professional care for pets

They have modern facilities and are well equipped. They also receive orthopedics referral cases. They have a friendly, helpful team and an interesting caseload.

The Role and Candidate:

This is a permanent full-time role where you will be working on a rota of 40 hours per week. At the moment due to the Covid 19 situation these hours would be generally split over Monday to Friday with 8 hours each day, no weekend work but as normal weeks return the rota would include some Saturday mornings with equivalent time off during the week. During the current situation, the work is mostly in Blackpool but the role will include some days at the second practice when the COVID situation is resolved.

The successful candidate will have great communication skills, down to earth, friendly and hardworking. Also very ambitious and be confident with basic surgery and competent in castrations and spays. There is some sole charge but you will always be backed up by a senior vet at the other branch. During the pandemic, they have less staff on the premises at the same time but all vets are available for a case discussion. If the candidate was a recent graduate they would have full support but would be expected to be able to work independently, apart from in surgical situations, within a few months.

The Package:

In return, our client is offering a competitive salary that is dependent on experience and for a recent graduate would be in the region of £25,500 p/a. The full benefits will be discussed in the interview but will include 2 days CPD and £600 towards CPD and there is accommodation available at the Blackpool site.
