We are working with a charity practice in Nottingham that is looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join them on a full-time permanent basis. This role is for a Team Leader Veterinary Surgeon that will support the Senior Veterinary Surgeon in the leadership of the Veterinary Surgeon team, to deliver efficient, professional and caring Pet services to the local community.
Founded in 1917 by animal welfare pioneer, Maria Dickin CBE, PDSA is the UK’s leading veterinary charity. Operating through a UK-wide network of 48 Pet Hospitals, PDSA provides low cost and free veterinary care to the sick and injured pets of people in need and promotes responsible pet ownership.
The hospitals are well equipped with the likes of ASIF Kits, Endoscopes, Digital Xrays, Ultrasounds and ECG equipment - just to name a few! They have a very varied caseload with great opportunities for Surgical and Medical development.
Their wonderful Nottingham Hospital is located close to the city centre with great access to major routes. They have a really experienced team of Vets with 4 of them holding Advanced Practitioner Certificates - which is great for learning and developing staff!! They also have 7 Veterinary Nurses, and a great support team of Veterinary Care Assistants, Receptionists and Animal Care Auxillary's.
They work closely with Nottingham Vet School, facilitating final year students here on rotation 48 weeks of the year. There is also a University Clinician at the practice multiple days per week to help support the rotation.
Our client is looking to recruit a Veterinary Surgeon Team Leader to support the Senior Veterinary Surgeon (SVS), in the leadership of the Veterinary Surgeon team, to deliver efficient, professional and caring Pet services to the local community. You will be responsible for all aspects of team management including recruitment, selection, and development, delivery of projects and delegation of tasks as determined by the SVS. Your time will be split between management/ admin tasks and time on the clinical rota.
You will be working 37.5 hours per week with 7.5-hour shifts between 08:00-18:00, it will also include 1 in 6 weekends working Saturday and Sunday 09:00-18:00. There are no out of hour requirements with this role giving you a great work/life balance.
The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, with a proven track record in customer service and teamwork, combined with extensive clinical knowledge in small animal practice.
The Remuneration Package:
In return, our client is offering a package worth between £48,000-£49,500 p/a (DOE) that includes:
