We are working with a charity practice in Birmingham that is looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join them on a full-time permanent basis. This is a full-time permanent role that would suit a candidate who will provide a high standard of customer service and clinical care whilst promoting pet wellbeing, supporting Veterinary Surgeons to deliver preventive services and to treat sick and injured pets of eligible clients.
Our client has a friendly clinical team of seven vets, 14 veterinary nurses, and five veterinary care assistants supported by an experienced administration team of four receptionists, three animal care auxiliaries and a client care manager. They benefit from a diverse mix of very experienced and newly qualified vets and nurses, along with being a nurse training practice, with the benefit of volunteers so there is never a lonely moment!
Their purpose-built single-story clinic has staff parking and a newly refurbished waiting room. To manage their busy caseload they have six consult rooms, four of which are shared which are ideal for teaching and teamwork. Off a spacious preparation area are two separate theatres are used for concurrent surgeries with one ideal for orthopaedics, in addition to a tub table with a dental machine, a new high-quality ultrasound machine in an adjacent room and digital radiography suite. The practice has access to a standard endoscopy unit and a range of orthopaedic kit including ASIF and hand tools.
This is a full-time role and the hours of work are excellent 09:00-17:30, with one 08:00 start and one 18:00, finish a week (lieu time is given for any extra time worked) with an hour lunch break and two well-respected 15-minute tea breaks. During the working day boredom is seldom seen and job satisfaction high; with an emphasis on education and preventative treatment which is well received. The opportunity for surgery exceeds that of traditional private practice and there are a few medical challenges too. Our client is looking to recruit a Qualified Veterinary Nurse (VN) who will provide a high standard of customer service and clinical care whilst promoting pet wellbeing, supporting Veterinary Surgeons to deliver preventive services and to treat sick and injured pets of eligible clients.
Working as part of a team that supports in theatre, provides inpatient care and carries out consults, admissions, and discharges, Veterinary Nurses are also involved in dispensing medication, encouraging financial contributions from clients and maintaining the hygiene and cleanliness of the hospital and equipment.
The Remuneration Package:
In return, our client is offering a package worth between £19,500-£21,500 p/a (DOE) that includes:
