We are working with a busy and thriving small animal practice in Lewisham, East London that is looking to recruit a Head Veterinary Nurse on a full-time permanent basis. This role includes all aspects of nursing as well as the day to day running of the practice.

The Practice:

Our client is located in a very well-connected part of South East London and the practice has been refurbished and kitted out to a very high standard that matches the clinical standards of the team.

A busy and thriving clinic with a very interesting and varied caseload, you will have use of ultrasound, echocardiology, digital radiography, laser therapy, separate cat and dog wards, two operating theatres, dental radiography, tonometry and access to CT facilities very close by. The 4-vet team is supported by a strong nursing team. One of the colleagues is studying for a diagnostic imaging certificate, so cases are thoroughly worked up and include echocardiograms.

This practice is based in the Beckenham region and there are also a few bus stops outside the practice making it easy to commute to. There are a few shops, restaurants, coffee shops, supermarkets and much more down the road from the practice.

The Role and Candidate:

This full-time permanent role covers 40 hours a week over 5 days and will include a weekend rota, covering either 1:3 Saturdays/Sundays or 1:6 full weekends.

The role will involve all aspects of nursing as well as the day-to-day running of the practice. This position provides you with the opportunity to develop nursing clinics and use your initiative to promote new ideas; more responsibilities will form part of this role with full support being provided by the nursing team.

As a Head Veterinary Nurse, you will be responsible for a variety of nursing duties as well as sharing best practices with your team and helping to support and develop the student nurses in the practice.
