We are working with a lovely small animal practice based in Shipley, West Yorkshire that is looking for an enthusiastic Veterinary Surgeon to join them on a full-time permanent basis.
The practice is well-equipped with an extensive laboratory meaning that they can run extensive investigative blood profiles including blood electrolytes, proteins, liver and kidney factors, cholesterol, glucose, and red and white blood cell analysis. They have a high powered x-ray machine enabling them to take highly diagnostic detailed x-rays of pets from tiny rabbits to Great Danes. They are able to examine samples of cells from suspicious lumps and bumps (called fine needle aspirates) with the ability to prepare, stain and examine slides in the Shipley laboratory.
The practice is only 15 minutes by train to central Leeds, yet woodland walks and the Yorkshire Dales on the doorstep. Work/life balance highly rated at this practice!
The Role and Candidate:
Our client is looking for a Veterinary Surgeon that has excellent surgical abilities with experience or desire to do some of the more basic orthopaedic procedures (though a candidate with good basic skills would be considered).
This is a full-time role, where you will be working a four-day working week, with a weekend rota of 1 in 3 Saturdays 09:00-15:00. With no out of hours requirements, this role gives you a great work/life balance.
You will have excellent communication skills with a strong desire to follow up cases and bond with clients and their pets. As sole charge will be required for this role you will need to be comfortable with this when you required and you must have the desire to work up cases to the highest level.
