We are working with a small animal practice in Halesowen, West Midlands that are currently looking for a confident Night Registered Veterinary Nurse on a permanent full-time basis.
Our clients’ have 8 practices including 2 hospitals, all within the Birmingham area. All their surgeries are air-conditioned, and they regularly invest in the very best modern veterinary diagnostic instruments, x-ray, laboratory, anaesthetic and surgical equipment. This means patients will receive the best possible care and treatment. They have their own vets and nurses work through the night looking after the hospital patients as well as dealing with urgent cases and surgical emergencies that might arise.
In short, they have superb levels of equipment, facilities, and veterinary knowledge, so that they are considered one of the leading first opinion practices in the Midlands.
They have 24 vets (including 9 certificate holders), 28 RVNs (including 4 certificate holders), 6 SVNs and a full complement of support staff.
This is a full-time permanent position for a Night Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their night team. Our client's night service is based at the Halesowen branch and covers the 8 branches and 1 other practice. Each night is staffed by a vet and a nurse. They expect the nurses to use their skills to their full potential and to be competent in all aspects of nursing. Your role will be responsible for all aspects of nursing care for all of the patients in the hospital, take calls from clients, triage patients, and assist with emergency surgery. The rota is generally 1 week of days (30 hours), 1 week of nights (95 hours) and then a week off. This is a rolling 3-week rota.
Our client is looking for a hardworking and enthusiastic Night RVN with a genuine passion for animal and client care. Our client is looking for a candidate who has some qualified experience within a small animal practice. Previous experience in an out of hour’s position or similar role is preferable but is not essential. A varied role and will sometimes see exotic patients, so some experience would be beneficial but not essential. Training will be provided by their exotics team if required.
