We are currently recruiting on behalf of a veterinary practice based in Cambridge, for an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse to work varied caseload from small animal to exotics.
Our client's practice is situated in the south of Cambridge, close to the beautiful historic city centre. Over the years the practice itself has undergone several transformations are now a small animal practice with a special interest in exotic species and have vivariums and heated bird cages to cater to these species.
They are supported by an excellent array of external laboratories and facilities that include; Digital x-ray, Video endoscopy, Ultrasound and echocardiography, ECG, Doppler blood pressure monitoring, Surgical Theatre, Dental care, and extraction facilities, In-house laboratory and more.
The Role and Candidate:
The client is looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse with some experience for a full-time permanent position. This role will involve maintaining a high level of personal knowledge of the diagnosis, management, and treatment of cases. Making time available to attend courses and thereby promote continuing professional development, as required by the RCVS. Maintain a friendly, helpful attitude to clients whilst assisting the consulting Vets. Ensure clients receive prescribed medicines and products, and that they understand how to use them. Ensure clients are properly invoiced for veterinary services.
Provide clerical and administrative support and assist with reception duties and telephone calls as required. Ensure that all areas of the premises are maintained in a neat, tidy, presentable fashion and in line with practice policy (see weekly and monthly jobs list). Ensure daily role/responsibilities (inpatient nurse, ops nurse and lab nurse) are carried out conduct nurse consultations ensuring a vet is consulted if any abnormalities are observed. To respect personal data and adhere to the GPDR regulations at all times. Attend all practice meetings. Promote and set up Pet Health Club plans. Undertake training in the following areas – K-laser, use of digital processor and use of internal lab equipment. Any history with working with exotics would be advantageous but full training will be given on the exotics they have in.
Shifts are either 7:30-15:30 or 11:00-19:00 or a mid-shift 9:30-17:00.Plus 1 in 6 weekends.
