Surgery Information / Job Description

We are looking for a veterinary surgeon to join a friendly and established team! Due to the experience in the existing team, We can consider applications from newly qualified vets as well as those with experience.

The practice partner graduated from Edinburgh in 2004 having also read zoology at UCL and has been working as a small animal veterinary surgeon ever since. As our Veterinary Partner, she benefits from the clinical freedom of a locally owned practice and the support and perks of working for the Vet Group.

You will be joining her supportive team made up of 1 Vet, 1 RVN, 1 SVN and 2 receptionists. The practice sees a higher than average number of rabbits and exotics and a reasonable proportion of clients are insured allowing the team to work up cases to a high standard.

Situated on a busy retail park, the surgery benefits from excellent nearby train and bus links and free on site car parking. The practice is purpose built with 3 consult rooms, dedicated operating theatre, in house lab, digital X-ray and ultrasound.

Person Specification

The team are looking for a vet with confidence in all routine surgical and medical cases and they welcome specialist interests! Emily offers a generous CPD allowance and actively encourages CPD for all colleagues within the team. If you have a particular area of interest, this may be the practice for you!

This is a full time position with a weekend rota of 1 in 2 and no OOHs. There will be occasional sole charge responsibility for experienced vets and support for new grads until they feel confident with this element of the role.
