We are currently working with a truly lovely independent practice with an excellent reputation for quality care based in Lambeth, London. This is a fabulous opportunity for a switched- on, up and coming go-getter small animal veterinary surgeon to join their team. The practice is rarely able to give an aspiring, hard-working small animal veterinary surgeon whose values match theirs this chance to work with their amazing team.

The Practice:

‘No words could describe how grateful we were to have found you as our vet. You are the best of the best as shown by the extra mile of care and attention given to our dog’ This is not a one-off comment provided by one of the practice clients, others follow with similar commendable words. This practice has been an integral part of the community for the past 20 years and focuses on the day to day veterinary care needed to keep their clients' pets active, healthy, and a special member of the family. They have a broad reach into Dulwich, Brixton, and the surrounding areas in between which means they have a diverse range of clients and a varied caseload. The surgery is air-conditioned, equipped with a range of up-to-date diagnostic equipment including digital radiology, ultrasound, microscopy, and electrocardiogram. Blood and urine test facilities are also available onsite. They are able to investigate illnesses quickly, help assess general health before surgical procedures, and monitor clinical progress and response to treatment. Other services include; behaviour, dentistry, flea & worms, health checks, insurance, microchipping, nutrition, pet passports, puppies & kittens, vaccinations, spays, and neuters. They have 3 full-time vets, 3 RVNs. & 4 ANA’s working there as part of their team.

The Role:

This is a full-time permanent position working between 9.30 - 18.30 Monday- Friday, 1:2 Saturday 9.00 - 12.00 noon. There are no out of hour requirements for this supporting a good work/life balance. There is the occasional sole charge required so you must be comfortable with this. They have a thorough consulting service to evaluate, assess, and reach a proper diagnosis and are currently working to 30 minute consult times [although this may change].

The Candidate:

This position would suit a candidate between 4 - 5 years qualified who can demonstrate their ability to effectively diagnose and treat their patients either medically or surgically. The practice will offer them clinical freedom to work up their cases and develop their own strengths as part of the practice needs. A keen veterinary surgeon who is willing to invest their energy, time, and expertise into the practice and become an active, effective, and highly successful member of their team.

The Package:

In return for your hard work and dedication, our client is offering an excellent package which includes:

  • A highly competitive salary of up to £52,000 p/a subject to skills and experience
  • CPD
  • RCVS
  • Professional Indemnity Insurance
  • Medical Allowance
  • 20 days holiday + 8 Bank Holidays
