We are currently working with an independent progressive RCVS accredited practice based on the beautiful South West coastline within easy commute of Bristol. Their dedicated team of vets, nurses, and support staff are looking for an additional small animal veterinary surgeon to join their team.

The Practice:

This is a lovely independent practice based in a beautiful location with a friendly team of 3 full-time vets, 4 RVNs plus a team of 4/5 working in reception/administration. They are also an accredited RCVS centre for training nurses and believe it’s important to support aspiring vets and nurses. Their lead vet has a certificate in surgery and plenty of back up and encouragement would be available for the enterprising small animal veterinary surgeon wishing to develop both their surgical and clinical skills. Their services and facilities include Laparoscopic Surgery, Nurse Clinics, Pet Health Plan, In-house Laboratory, Digital X-rays, Acupuncture, Dental Surgery, Specialist Ultrasound Exams, Endoscopy, In-house Cytology, & Opthalmology. They have the added benefit of three referral specialists [orthopaedics, ophthalmology, ultrasonography] who visited the clinic on a regular basis, 

The Role:

This is a permanent full-time position working to 15 minute consults 3.5 to 4 days per week generally, and on occasion 5 days to cover holidays working to a shift pattern of earlies and lates 8.30 - 19.00 or 8.30 - 17.00. OOHs 1 night per week every other Monday & 1:6 Friday nights [as they help provide cover for 2 other practices situated nearby]. Weekend work 1:3 Saturday morning 9.00 - 13.00 and 1:20 full weekend with on-call from Saturday 13.00 - Monday 8.30. Some occasional sole charge.

The Candidate:

This position would suit an enthusiastic, keen small animal veterinary surgeon who is looking to progress and develop and would benefit from the support and strength of the team. It is a busy practice with a varied caseload, therefore, the successful candidate would need to demonstrate excellent communication skills, empathy and the ability to work with others
