We are working with a large, progressive independent practice in Surrey that is looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join them on a full-time permanent basis. This role is based at their main practice in Reigate but will include branch work at their three other branches.

The Practice:

Our client is proud to be an independently owned group that prides itself on providing traditional and personal service to their clients whilst using the latest styles of thinking, equipment, level of care, and treatments.

Their small animal vet team has wide-ranging experience and specialist interests. Orthopaedics, cardiology, anesthesia, soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, behaviour, laser therapy, acupuncture, and animal welfare are just some of their areas of expertise.

They are fully equipped to carry out surgical and diagnostic procedures which include laparoscopy, digital x-ray, portable dental x-ray, laser unit, endoscopy, ultrasound, laser unit, and more.

The Role and Candidate:

Our client is looking for a forward-thinking and motivated nurse to share their varied caseloads including laparoscopy, advanced soft tissue surgery, orthopaedics, imaging, laser therapy, and nurse clinics. They have high standards of inpatient and clinical care and are supportive of staff who want to further their knowledge.

This is a full-time permanent position that includes working different shifts during the days which are worked on a weekly block then rotated (07:00-14:00, 08:00-15:00, 11:30-18:30 and 12:00 (noon)-19:00. The OOH is rotated with all nurses, so currently every 1 in 10 weeks. Nights are Monday-Thursday 19:00-07:00, and then the following week the nurse does Friday-Sunday 19:00-07:00.

Weekends are on the same rotation with shifts of Saturday 08:00-19:00 & Sunday 08:00-18:00.

During nights the vet on call has the phone and the nurse is on call for assistance and inpatient care. Nurses are encouraged to sleep between checks and they have a duty flat that can be used.

The duties of the role include anaesthesia, consults, inpatient care, etc.

The Package:

Our client fully supports learning and personal growth in the practice and as such, there is no set CPD allowance, the directors are very generous and as long as they feel it will benefit the practice they authorise it (Certificates are encouraged, etc).

In return for all your hard work and dedication, our client is offering a competitive salary and benefits package that is reflective of experience.
