We are working with a lovely group of practices in Northern Ireland that is looking for an experienced small animal Veterinary Surgeon to join them on a full-time permanent basis. Ideally, you will be a medically bais experienced Veterinary Surgeon that will enjoy a high medical and surgical caseload and challenging trauma cases that are seen at these practices.

The Practice:

Our client is looking to increase its team with an experienced Small Animal Vet (ideally medically biased) to add to the team of 7 SA vets and 11 nurses.

They are highly equipped for all medical and surgical investigations and is RCVS accredited and have 2 Registered Nurse training centres. They offer both first and second opinion services from across N.Ireland and they are looking for someone who is passionate about customer and pet care and wishes to join their vision for small animal practice in Mid Ulster.

Along with well-equipped and up to date facilities our client has separate isolation facilities away from the main wards allowing them to deal with infectious diseases such as Parvovirus, Canine Cough, and Cat Flu, without posing a risk to other patients. Ther main working areas, kennels, and isolation facilities all have separate ventilation systems so that air from infectious areas is always moved away from the main areas. They operate a foot bathing system and barrier nursing in their isolation area.

The Role and Candidate:

You will have a grounding in all aspects of general practice (medical and surgical) with an ambition for a more advanced caseload including the opportunity to study towards a certificate. One to one support and active tuition will be given for rapid development as well as associated supported CPD.

This is a full-time permanent role that will include out of hours of 1 night in 5 and weekend on-call with TOIL. You will be based at one main practice but with the occasional need to cover other surgeries within the group.

Ideally, you will have 2 years plus small animal practice experience.

The Package:

In return for all your dedication and hard work our client is offering a competitive package that includes:

  • Salary - competitive – rising with experience.
  • Holiday entitlement,
  • CPD
  • Professional Memberships (RCVS, VDS)
  • Pension
  • Healthcare and other staff benefits.
