Permanent Veterinary Surgeon - Leicester

We are working with a two-branch practice in Leicester, who are looking to recruit a permanent full-time small animal Veterinary Surgeon. The practice is a mixed practice that covers small animals and farm animals.

Our client is looking for two small animal Vets that are able to work unassisted or with minimum assistance and one Senior small animal Vet.

The Practice:

This practice is a mixed veterinary practice treating an array of both small animal and farm animals (not equine) 60% small and 40% farm.

Our clients are a medium-sized practice working across two sites, based in Leicester, currently staffed by eight vets who are supported by a team of Registered Veterinary Nurses, Nursing Auxiliaries, Receptionists, and Administrators. With modern diagnostic tools and surgical equipment, the practice aims to ensure all animals receive the best possible care, with the team providing their own out-of-hours service for continuous support. Their facilities include x-ray, ultrasound, endoscopy, ECG, Dental Suite, separate cat and dog wards, and capnography

The Role and Candidate:

Our client is going through an exciting period of change by splitting their small animal so that this will now work between two separate teams, and outsourcing their small animal OOH duties to another practice within the group. They are looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join them on a full-time permanent basis, the full working rota will be discussed at the interview. Their Saturday shifts are worked on a rota, so varies but approx 1 a month, currently open 8.30 am 12.30 pm, but this will be extended to about 4 pm once they have given up their OOH services. They are looking for two experienced Veterinary Surgeons that are capable to work unassisted or with minimum assistance. The third role is for a Senior Veterinary Surgeon where you will support the practice Clinical Director, and help mentor the clinical development of the more junior team members. They are seeking enthusiastic vets, passionate about patients, looking for opportunities within our practice.

The Package:

In return, our client is offering a competitive salary and great benefits, that include:

  • Generous CPD allowance
  • Certificate opportunities on a training contract.
  • 7.33 weeks holiday,
  • Pension,
  • Healthshield,
  • Cycle to work schemes.
  • They can provide some assistance in helping in relocation if required
