We are currently working with a delightful independent practice situated in a lovely location in Worcester yet with easy links to motorway access and commuter routes e.g. 5 minutes drive from the M5, 30 minutes from Birmingham airport, and 60 minutes from Bristol airport.
The team is looking for a small animal Veterinary Surgeon to join their dedicated and expanding team.
This is a busy and friendly small animal practice that is fully independent, not part of a chain or owned by a pet shop or a hedge fund. Since opening in '90s the premises have been extended and refurbished to a purpose-built environment including separate main and isolation wards so that potentially infectious patients can be isolated. The clinic has many other facilities and capabilities that one would expect of a modern Veterinary Practice.
The out of hours is covered by a separate team that runs this service within the practice to give clients the confidence that their pet is being cared for in a familiar environment.
They are in the process of opening a new branch 3 miles away, this is currently on hold but as soon as things settled down, they will proceed quickly with the view to opening New Year. The main clinic will carry out major surgeries and hospitalise animals’ over-night. The new branch will be a consultation Practice with facilities to carry out minor procedures. No animals will be left at the new Practice overnight. All staff members will be on a rota between the two Practices. This is an exciting opportunity for the Practice, and they look forward to sharing this with the chosen candidate
The team currently consists of the Owner/Head Vet 2 Qualified Veterinary Nurses 1 practice Manager 1 Full-time receptionist 1 Full-time Veterinary Nurse Assistant 1 Trainee Veterinary Nurse.
Our client is currently working restricted hours during Covid-19. The temporary hours will be 5 hours a day either AM or PM, Monday to Friday and every other Saturday morning. The Saturday morning will be given back the following week in lieu. There will be two teams - Team A and Team B. Current vet and a qualified nurse will be Team A and the new candidate, and a qualified nurse will be Team B. Both teams will work a block of 5 hours. The aim is for these two teams not to overlap minimising the risk of cross-infection. Once things have settled down normal hours will resume which will be a 37.5-hours week
They no longer offer their own Out-of-Hours, and they have a contract with a partner company being put into place for this.
Our client is looking for a Veterinary Surgeon that is confident working alone and taking Sole charge of the Practice. You will have excellent communication skills both verbally and written are essential along with being fluent in the English language.
