We are working with a practice based in Leeds, West Yorkshire, that is looking to recruit a small animal Veterinary Surgeon on a part-time, permanent basis.
Our client offers the latest state-of-the-art equipment, to ensure prompt diagnoses and the most effective treatments. Their purpose built, modern surgery has been designed to industry-leading standards and has state of the art equipment including an in-house operating theatre and laboratory, digital X-ray, purpose built dental suite and much more. Their highly trained veterinary surgeons and nurses are kept constantly updated on the latest innovations and protocols. They offer a full range of treatments from health checks to emergency operations and they are always committed to providing exceptional veterinary services. You will be joining a large team of 9 Vets with a 2:1 qualified RVN/Vet Ratio and an exceptional support team.
21 - 26hr permanent contract, starting 1st June 2020
9-8 (10.5hrs) x 2 days per week (Twighlight ECC shifts 3-11pm are also optional for those interested)
1 weekend in 4 (Sat and Sun 9am-7:30pm)
This position is never sole charge (even weekends). The practice has just received hospital status via RCVS Accreditation, has 45 team members (includes separate night team, so no OOH required), has a strong/supportive educational development plan for all colleagues, and works with primarily with in-patient/ECC/OOH/referral work via 15 practices in the region. Daily work can include :
- Orthopaedic surgery including TTA, CCWO, Patella Luxation, pelvic and limb fractures.
- Soft-Tissue surgery including extra-hepatic PSS, BOAS, PDA, SUBS, liver lobectomy, cholecystectomy, urinary obstructive procedures,
- In addition: Transfusional medicine, PRP therapy, intra-oral acrylic mandibular fracture stabilisation and other emergency dental procedures.
They are fully equipped with:
Digital X-ray, IM3 Dental X-ray, ultrasound, anaesthetic multi-parameter monitoring, flexible & rigid endoscopy, otoscopy, cystoscopy, rhinoscopy, Tonovet tonometer, VETOME (for closed dental extractions), comprehensive laboratory including full haematology CBC, electrolytes, lactate, NH3, UPCR, SNAP (CPLi, FPLi, Giardia, Parvo, FeLV / FIV) Separate ISFM Gold Standard Cattery, isolation and ICU (with multi-parameter monitoring).
