Permanent Veterinary Surgeon - Banbury

We are working with a client with a practice based in Banbury, Oxfordshire that is looking to recruit a small animal Veterinary Surgeon on a full or part-time permanent basis.

The Practice:

The surgery is built to industry-leading standards and has state-of-the-art equipment. The team currently consists of 2 vets, Head Nurse plus 3 RVNs, 1 student nurse, 1 veterinary care assistant, 3 client care advisors, and a practice manager. Their spacious, three consulting room surgery is equipped to a high standard with a full in-house laboratory, digital CR radiography, ultra-sound, well-equipped surgical theatre with diathermy, capnography, multi-parameter monitor, and piped anesthetic gases in all areas of the surgery. They see a very varied caseload in lots of species from dogs and cats to reptiles and raptors, from routine health consults and complex medical cases to orthopedic surgery. Over 30% of their active client base are insured and a majority are on a health plan.

The Role:

This is a permanent position for a Veterinary Surgeon. This position is full or part-time, with a minimum of 25 hours per week and there will be a 1 in 3-weekend rota (Saturdays 09:00-17:00 and Sundays 10:00-16:00) and there will be no OOH allowing for an excellent work/life balance.

The Candidate:

Our client is looking for a confident and personable vet with at least 2 years of clinical experience in small animal practice, and who is comfortable in sole charge on a weekend rota basis, with additional clinical support as necessary. Along with the support of the rest of the team, you will be able to utilize and develop your skills and expertise to provide a high standard of care to meet your clients’ expectations. They encourage ownership of cases, whilst providing good support from all colleagues at the surgery.
