We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join our client as their Lead Veterinary Surgeon. This is a permanent full-time position to join a small animal practice in Nottingham.

They provide ongoing support to their teams, both in practice and through a dedicated training centre. This empowers you to get the very best from the advanced equipment while being on your journey to veterinary excellence.

The team at this practice consists of a 4 vet team, one of which has a certificate in surgery supported by a large team of support staff.

The practice is fully equipped including a separate operating theatre, digital x-ray, ultrasound, and endoscopy with access to MRI and CT scanner at our clients' orthopedic referral clinic - Referrals East Midlands.

The Role and Candidate

This is an exciting opportunity that has arisen for a Lead Veterinary Surgeon to join our clients' practice in Nottingham. 

This is a full-time role working 4 days per week with 1:3 half weekends or 1:6 full weekends. 

You will be responsible for consulting, surgery, diagnosis, and treatment of patients, inpatient care, supporting reception and nursing staff with regards to clinical services, customer service, pricing and estimating fees, dealing with client concerns. 

They are looking for a clinically strong Veterinary Surgeon with leadership experience, good medical, and surgical skills. 

You will have a minimum of two years of small animal practice, being involved in the responsibilities described above, working with high volumes of patients. Ability to manage staff and deal with clients.

Registered with the RCVS to practice as a veterinary surgeon in the UK. Great communication skills are essential for this role.

The Package:

  • Salary up to £65,000 p/a (DOE)
  • Accommodation Allowance: £6,600 
  • Vehicle Allowance: £2,500 
  • CPD allowance: £1,500 plus 3 days CPD leave
  • BVA, RCVS and VDS fees paid
