Permanent Veterinary Surgeon, Sunderland

We are working with an established small animal veterinary practice that is based south of Sunderland in County Durham that is looking to recruit experienced Veterinary Surgeons. Due to the continuing expansion of the practice our client is looking for full-time and part-time vets to join them on a permanent basis.

The Practice:

This is a small, friendly, independent practice, that provides individual care for dogs, cats, rabbits, and other companion animals. Their objective is to provide a complete healthcare package for their clients’ pets which includes the following: vaccinations, nurse clinics & puppy parties, behavioural advice, neutering, micro-chipping, pet dentistry, surgical procedures, radiography & cruciate repair. Their facilities include Digital imaging facilities, ultrasound, endoscope, diathermy, ECG & BP Monitoring, dental equipment, and house Idexx lab suite.

You will be able to develop your skills, enjoy the clinical flexibility of independent practice, manage and follow through with your own caseload & maintain client continuity, whilst being part of a small close-knit team. They have qualified support staff, all the usual toys, Animana practice management system, and great clients!

The Role and Candidate:

Due to expansion, our client is looking for a Veterinary Surgeons to join them on a permanent basis, which can be either full or part-time.

  • Full-time - 4 days a week (34hrs, shifts 8.30 am to 5 pm, 9 am to 5.30 pm 9.30 am to 6 pm, and 10 am to 6.30 pm inc paid designated breaks)
  • Part-time - 2 to 3 days a week (half or full, or mix of both) 
  • Flexible working - to allow for a good work/life balance, and family commitments, you can alternate the number of days/hours you work week on week!!
  • Some Saturday mornings (8.30 am till 12 am) on a rota basis (consults only - currently 1:3, but will decrease as more vets are recruited).
  • No OOHS or On-call

You will be an experienced Veterinary Surgeon that can work well within a team and provides excellent service to your clients and their pets. Our client is looking for a Vet with between 2 to 3 years of post-graduate experience that is comfortable within a sole charge position.

Remuneration Package:
