We currently working with a mixed animal practice based in North Gwynedd in North West Wales that is looking for a Mixed or Large Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join them on a full-time permanent basis
Our client is a mixed veterinary practice, that provides the best possible healthcare to small animals, farm animals, and horses in a friendly and supportive environment.
The practice covers all areas such as Anglesey, Gwynedd, and Conwy. As part of their commitment to giving the best healthcare, they run their own 24/7 emergency service, with the support of an experienced, enthusiastic team of vets, veterinary nurses, and support staff, many of whom have specialist skills and knowledge in areas of animal health.
To support the Veterinary Surgeons the main surgery has 5 VN's and 4 Students, along with an admin team, overall our client has 58 staff over 5 sites.
The Role and candidate:
Our client is looking for a Veterinary Surgeon with a minimum of two years in practice experience to join them on a permanent full-time basis. The split is hard to define but 15% Small Animal, 65% Farm 20% Equine, but our client is happy to work differently if needed.
The dairy work is good and increasing with a number of farmers going into milking. The farm vet team is 5, the equine team 3, and the remainder are a mix of small only and mixed vets.
The role is full-time where you will be working 5 days a week, approx 40 hours. You will be working one weekend in five with other vets on-call and one night a week again with other vets. Time off in lieu after weekends and some nights.
A practice Van can be provided and use of a flat if required until own housing found.
In return, our client is offering a competitive salary of circa £38,400 p/a - dependent on experience, CPD £1000/5days, and certificates encouraged. Full details will be discussed in the interview.
