Ambulatory Veterinary Surgeon - Equine - Fixed Term

Facilities: The Practice is based in Newbury which has a well-appointed clinic, which accepts first-opinion and referral cases for surgery, MRI, CT, scintigraphy, and medical investigations as well as a large in-house laboratory. They have an abundance of mobile kits and support staff to help with ambulatory procedures. 

Team: They have a total of 33 Equine Vets across the Hospital and Ambulatory Teams. Supporting the Vets they have 15 Nurses - both Trainees and Qualified. Within the hospital, they have Surgical, Medicine, and Lameness specialists. The Ambulatory team is made up of 7 Vets and we are looking for one new recruit to join the team. They sponsor many local events and have recently sponsored a number of local riders.

Role: Our client is looking to recruit an Ambulatory Vet to cover a period of Maternity Leave for a minimum of 6 months and up to one year starting in March/April 2025.  

Duties: The role will be primarily ambulatory, with case follow-up in the clinic encouraged. 

Hours: Full-time, Rota patterns that work for you

OOHs: The position will require participation in a 1 in 7 out-of-hours rota. Out-of-hours work is relatively quiet and does not include stud work, anaesthesia, or clinic admissions, which are covered by separate teams.  

Salary: Up to £75,000 per annum depending on experience.
