We are currently recruiting on behalf of an award-winning practice near Birmingham, West Midlands, who are looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon (3 years’+) to join their team on a permanent basis.
The Practice:
This award-winning practice has been providing excellent care to the community since the late 50s, and have evolved from a single practice to the main hospital and four branches and the role may involve traveling between branches when required. The practices include 11 operating theatres supported by 12 Vets, 4 of which are Certificate holders and Advanced Practitioners. They undergo constant reviews and upgrades to ensure that they maintain the standards you would expect of a modern multi-branch veterinary practice with an Accredited Veterinary Hospital. Their leading-edge equipment allows fast diagnoses, specialist operating theatres that deliver excellence in treatment and care.
Their facilities include: General purpose X-ray equipment, digital X-ray equipment, dedicated dental X-ray unit, ultrasound machine, MRI scanning at their Hospital, blood pressure monitor, ECG equipment, in-house laboratory for biochemistry and haematology, incubators for very ill patients, surgical equipment to allow a wide range of soft tissue and orthopaedic work.
The Role:
This is a full-time position working 4.5 days a week Monday-Friday, either 9.00-19.00, 9.00-17.00 or 9.00-13.00. The weekend rota will be approx. 1:10 with a 4-day weekend the following week and overnight on call 1:10, fully supported with backup from their 4 partners. There is on-site accommodation for on call if required.
Lots of support will be on offer as well as the chance for career progression. You will have access to 4 certificate holders, with an established mentorship program and weekly in-house CPD. There is also long-term progression opportunities, including certificate and branch management opportunities. Sabbatical opportunities after 24 months.
The Candidate:
The ideal candidate must have minimum 3 years’ experience in practice. You will have both excellent clinical and client care skills and thrive within a friendly and progressive team environment.
The practice will not be beaten on salary and is offering £33,000-£70,000 per annum, dependent on skills and experience, plus pension, generous CPD, BSAVA membership, cert funding, RCVS/ VDS membership, staff discount on pet care, cycle to work scheme, 33 days’ annual leave (inc bank holidays) and assist with relocation if required.
