A thriving first-opinion veterinary practice is seeking a passionate and skilled Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join its dynamic and friendly team. This role offers an exciting mix of medical, surgical, and exotic animal care, with a strong emphasis on professional development, work-life balance, and fully utilizing nursing skills.

Duties: This practice is dedicated to maximising the role of its nurses, giving them structured responsibilities across different clinical areas each day.

  • Kennels: Lead inpatient care, developing tailored treatment plans and ensuring hospitalized patients receive the best support during recovery.
  • Theatre: Monitor general anaesthesia and assist surgeons in both routine and complex procedures, including soft tissue, orthopaedic, and ophthalmic surgeries.
  • Prep Area: Handle lab sample processing, surgical kit organization, theatre circulating, and assisting with consultations.
  • Consultations: Conduct nurse clinics, including weight checks, post-operative assessments, and medication administration, while also managing stock orders to keep the practice running smoothly.

Hours: Excellent work-life balance – flexible working hours and a 1:5 Saturday rota with no OOH

Work Schedule & Flexibility

  • Shifts between 8:30 am – 5:00 pm or 11:00 am – 7:30 pm
  • 1 in 5 Saturdays (8:30 am – 5:00 pm) with VCA support
  • Open to flexible working arrangements to suit individual needs

  • An enthusiastic and confident RVN who enjoys working in a fast-paced, progressive environment
  • A strong team player, eager to contribute to the practice’s high clinical standards
  • Passion for learning and development, with the opportunity to pursue certificates in areas of interest
  • Clinical Supervisor status is advantageous but not essential
