Floating Veterinary Surgeon

We are working with an excellent client that has practices across the Cambridgeshire area that are looking to recruit a floating Veterinary Surgeon on a full-time permanent basis.

The Practice:
Our client has practices across North London, Hertfordshire and Cambridgeshire, which includes four 24-hour emergency hospitals and a specialist referral centre in one of their practices in London. They have nearly 300 staff, including specialists in Soft Tissue Surgery, Dermatology and Emergency and Critical Care, staff with certificates in feline practice, and residency trained consultants in anaesthesia and analgesia and internal medicine. The pace of work for our client ranges from the quieter village practices in Cambridge to the fast-paced, 24-hour emergency and critical care at Hampstead.

The Role:
This is a permanent full-time position, working around 45 hours per week with 1:3 weekend and a very small amount of out of hours. The shifts and rota will depend on the practice you are working at, with a primary base at the 24 hour emergency and critical care hospital in South Cambridgeshire and covering the other practices when needed. 

The role is extremely important to ensure the smooth running of all of the practices. 

The Candidate: 
The ideal candidate must be flexible and adaptable to a mix of sole charge and multi-vet practices, dealing with a variety of routine surgeries, consultations, and emergency cases. You will have the opportunity to work in a variety of environments, building relationships with different teams and develop an array of skills.  Your main responsibilities will include, patient/clinical care, client care, Business development and teamwork. You must have experience in small animal medical and surgical experience, ability to lead when the most senior person on shift or in the room.

You must have a positive attitude, receptive to change, effective communication skills within the team and with clients and ability to work as a strong contributor to a team. 

In return, our client is offering a competitive salary circa £35,000 that is reflective of skills and experience plus benefits.
