We are working with a client that has practices across the Cambridgeshire area that are looking to recruit a floating Veterinary Surgeon on a full-time permanent basis.
Our client has practices across North London, Hertfordshire and Cambridgeshire, which includes four 24-hour emergency hospitals and a specialist referral centre in one of their practices in London. They have nearly 300 staff, including specialists in Soft Tissue Surgery, Dermatology and Emergency and Critical Care, staff with certificates in feline practice, and residency trained consultants in anaesthesia and analgesia and internal medicine. The pace of work for our client ranges from the quieter village practices in Cambridge to the fast-paced, 24-hour emergency and critical care at Hampstead.
You will be working across our clients Cambridgeshire practices assisting with cover requirements for the Vets. You will have a primary base at the 24-hour emergency and critical care hospital in South Cambridgeshire and will be sent to other practices when cover is needed. The position is full time and the shifts/rota will be dependent on the practice you are working at.
This role is extremely important to ensure the smooth running of all of the practices and you will have the opportunity to work in a variety of environments, building relationships with the different teams and learning an array of skills. You'll be working in a mix of sole charge and multi-vet practices, dealing with routine surgeries, consultations and emergency cases.

Out client is looking for a Veterinary Surgeon with the following experience:
- Strong small animal medical and surgical experience
- Ability to lead when the most senior person on shift or in the room
- Having worked in a sole charge role
- Experience working in a busy practice or hospital
- Previous experience with EZVet practice management system is desirable
You must have a positive attitude, receptive to change, effective communication skills within the team and with clients and ability to work as a strong contributor to a team.
