We are currently working with a small independent practice in South West London that aims to practice good quality medicine and excellent client care. They are looking for an experienced Veterinary Nurse to join their 2 vet and 3 nurse team as their Head Nurse.
The Practice:
They are a feline-friendly practice, with separate cat and dog wards. Equipment includes infusion pumps, blood pressure monitor, patient warmer, Idexx laboratory equipment, digital radiography (including dental radiography), and ultrasound.
The Role:
The role will be to lead a close-knit team, and as such it’s important that you enjoy working as part of a team and that you are interested in people and their management.
You will be responsible for the clinical coaching of the two student nurses, and maintaining the high standards of nursing of medical and surgical inpatients.
The Head Nurse role also includes client consultations, responsibility for laboratory work, radiography, overnight care of hospitalised patients, pet passports, and you will be the main point of contact for client queries.
The package on offer includes accommodation with all bills paid. The salary will be according to experience but in the range of £25,000-£28,000.
The Candidate:
The successful candidate will be able to fit in well with the existing, close-knit team. The practice would prefer candidates to have at least 3 years of experience of working as an RVN in practice. You will have good leadership skills and be a friendly and pleasant character with a good approach to dealing with colleagues and clients alike.

Hours: Full time, 40 hours per week, varied shifts between 8.00 am and 8.00 pm
Weekends: 1:3 Saturday mornings 8:30 am to 1.00 pm
OOH: No out of hours

Salary: £25,000 – £28,000 (DOE), CPD, Accommodation if required
