We are working with a client based in North London that is looking to recruit a permanent Head Veterinary Surgeon.  This is a full-time position where you will take the lead of your team and will be ultimately responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of this practice.

The Client
Our client has practices across North London, Hertfordshire and Cambridgeshire, which includes four 24-hour emergency hospitals and a specialist referral centre in one of their practices in London. They have nearly 300 staff, including specialists in Soft Tissue Surgery, Dermatology and Emergency and Critical Care, staff with certificates in feline practice, and residency trained consultants in anaesthesia and analgesia and internal medicine. The pace of work for our client ranges from the quieter village practices in Cambridge to the fast-paced, 24-hour emergency and critical care at Hampstead.

The Role:
As Head Veterinary Surgeon you will be responsible for the practice's performance, continued development of the practice standards and the performance of your team. This is an exciting role for anyone who is looking to step up into a role with more responsibility as you will be responsible for delivering the strategic goals of the company and the business plan for the practice, as agreed with your Regional Manager.

Along with the smooth running of the practice, your main responsibilities will include:
- Patient / Clinical Care
- Client Care
- Business Development
- Teamwork

Our client is looking for a veterinary surgeon with essential experience in:
- Strong medical and surgical experience in small animal practice
- Awareness of the operational aspects of the practice that affect practice profitability
- Ability to lead as the most senior person on shift or in the room
- Having worked in a sole charge role
- Working in a busy practice

If you have experience of working in a Head Vet position and managing a team these would be desirable too.

You must have a positive attitude, receptive to change, effective communication skills within the team and with clients and ability to work as a strong contributor to a team.

In return, our client is offering a competitive salary that is reflective of skills and experience plus benefits.

To qualify for this position you must be fully registered with the RCVS and you must be eligible to work in the UK.
