Role: Locum Veterinary Surgeon
Type: Equine
Location: Isle of Man
Start Date: End of November/Beginning of December
Finish Date: Mid March 2021
Hours: It would be a 4-5 day working week, 8:30-18:00. They would need on-call and weekend cover also. Some of their other vets can do equine work, but they really need an experienced vet who is happy with sole charge and would basically be their lead equine vet.
Weekends: Yes
Sole Charge: Yes
OOHs: Their equine on call is not normally too busy, their vets are able to do most things and would only need help if they had multiple OOH calls or needed a 2nd opinion. For the on-call, one of their vets would have the phones & then either pass the call onto the locum or ring them if they needed help with it.
Skills: Must be experienced with great communication skills both spoken and written.
Accommodation: Yes
Vehicle: Provided
Practice info: They have no surgical facilities on the island, so colics are managed medically only. They have an x-ray and portable ultrasound.
Other info: Currently they are living without restrictions on the Isle of Man. No lockdown, no masks, everything open as usual! However, anyone entering needs a travel exemption certificate (which the practice can arrange) and they also need to self isolate for 2 weeks on arrival. They can provide accommodation and a car if needed.
Pay Rate: Negotiable / Dependent on Experience
