They have 10 vets in the practice - each day they have 3 on small animals, one on-call (off during the day has been on overnight), and the rest on farm work with a wee bit of equine. The farm work is predominantly beef herds with some sheep and dairy. They have 3 branches and cover the smaller Islands too. They use ferries, small planes, and fast boats to access the smaller Isles and there's usually a vet out on these Islands 2-3 days per week. During springtime, they are busy with caesarean sections. If you are a small animal vet then you wouldn't participate in the on-call rota - their role would be Monday - Friday and alternate Saturday mornings
Out of hours: As above
Weekends: As above
Sole charge: Some

Additional info: Located just off the northern tip of Scotland they are lucky to enjoy lots of sandy beaches, wildlife, and stunning scenery. They regularly see dolphins and whales (mainly Orca) and usually have many festivals throughout the year. They are in the fortunate position that they have had very few cases of COVID19 so would require the locum vet to isolate on arrival.
