We are working with a mixed practice in Derbyshire that is looking to recruit a full-time Veterinary Surgeon on a permanent basis. They are looking for a vet with a bias to small animal and equine, although the role may include a small amount of farm/large animal too.

The Practice:
Our client is a mixed veterinary practice providing care, advice, and treatment for all animals great and small in Derbyshire and Staffordshire. They have entered into a voluntary scheme with the governing body the RCVS which gives clients confidence that the practice and the services it offers have been ‘vetted’ and have passed. Out of hours patients will always be seen by the team.

The Role:
This position is full time, 40 hours a week over 5 days. As our client does their own out of hours you will need to take part in the shared rota. There will be 1 night a week on call and 1 in 8 weekends. 

You will be situated at the main practice working alongside 11 other mixed vets and 1 SA vet but there may be occasional branch work. 

The Candidate:
You will be a mixed vet with a strong bias towards small animal and equine with 2 to 3 years’ experience. You will be a motivated, ambitious and a strong team player.

Weekends: 1 in 8 weekends Saturday & Sunday
Out of hours: 1 night a week on call and the remainder of the weekend worked on call (1 in 8)
Sole charge: There will only be sole charge when on call
Salary: Competitive - Reflective of experience, plus £1,250 CPD allowance and RCVS & BVSA fees paid
