We are working with a client based in Brighton, East Sussex that is looking to recruit a permanent Night Veterinary Surgeon to join their emergency service team.

The Client
Our client’s practice is an officially recognised RCVS Hospital Standard and Emergency Provider, which is the highest accreditation available. They provide tailored individual care, not generic treatment, and combine a traditional veterinary practice pedigree with modern veterinary medicine, in sickness, and in health. This practice has an extensive range of cutting edge equipment to help provide their patients the very best care, these include - CT Scanner, Laboratory, Laparoscopy, Endoscopy, Bronchoscopy and Rhinoscopy, ECG and Holter ECG, with Isolation Facilities and separate dog and cat wards.

The Role
Our client is looking for a permanent night veterinary surgeon to work in their emergency service. The emergency service tends to retain cases admitted as an emergency for management and investigation and manages referral cases if the ongoing hospital is required. This results in an interesting and highly varied case load with potential for support and longer term follow-up not usually available within an emergency service.
You will be supported all night by veterinary nurse and nursing assistant up until 11pm.

The shifts are busy and awake shifts. They offer a very flexible and humane shift pattern working 4pm to1am or 12 midnight to 9am Monday - Sunday, which is typically 2-3 shifts per week (they are happy to consider variations to the number of shifts worked per week depending on your circumstances).

The weekend rota is one in four working both Saturday and Sunday.

Previous emergency night vet experience is essential and a proven ability to prioritise and manage situations as they arise.

In return, they are offering a competitive salary that is reflective of experience and hours agreed.

To qualify for this position you must be fully registered with the RCVS and you must be eligible to work in the UK.
