This position is a Experienced Oncologist Specialist on a full-time permanent basis.
Emerging from a successful referral service, our client will open the doors to its brand new, purpose-built referral centre in Wakefield, offering exceptional patient care with cutting-edge veterinary medicine and addressing key issues facing referral vets in the region. Their extensive facilities will be housed in what will be one of the largest and best equipped purpose-built small animal referral centre in the UK. They share a clear vision, to deliver the best, most caring and highly advanced treatment possible to patients and their owners in the North of England. Their state-of-the-art facilities are situated in pleasant, clean surroundings allowing the highest level of care, providing a high level of service to the client.
Their new facilities will include Digital imaging department, fixed 1.5T 18 channel MRI whole body scanner, 16 slice CT scanner, X-Ray and fluoroscopy, Endoscopy, Ultrasound and electro-diagnostics, operating microscopy, 24 hour intensive care facilities, 5 Ultra-hygienic operating theatres, 8 consulting rooms, spacious and comfortable waiting room with a separate cat waiting area.
They are committed to providing a multi-disciplinary referral service for patients, their owners, and referring vets. Their disciplines will include; Anaesthesia, Cardiology, Dermatology, Diagnostic Imaging, Internal medicine, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedic Surgery, Soft Tissue Surgery.
The Candidate and Role:
We are seeking an experienced Oncologist Specialist to expand our clients' referral team. The successful applicant will ideally hold a European, American or RCVS Diploma (or equivalent) and have had significant exposure to medical oncology cases. You must share our clients aim of providing the best possible levels of care for pets, their owners and referring veterinary surgeons. (Board-eligible candidates will also be considered for this role).
The oncology team will work alongside the other specialist-led teams in the disciplines of anaesthesia, internal medicine, neurology, orthopaedics, soft tissue surgery, ophthalmology, dermatology, cardiology and diagnostic imaging. This truly multi-disciplinary specialist service will allow their oncologist to offer the best levels of patient and client care, whatever the problem may be.
This position will be well remunerated, and the package includes 6.6 weeks' paid holiday including bank holidays and one week of funded CPD each year, a discretionary week for committee work etc., a non-contributory pension, membership of an employee benefits scheme and private healthcare.
To qualify for this position, you must be fully registered with the RCVS and you must be eligible to work in the UK.
