Role: Permanent Registered Lead Veterinary Nurse - OOHs

Type: Small Animal

Location: Glasgow, Scotland

Practice: Part of a group

Team Info: They have an experienced and welcoming team across 7 practices across the Glasgow area

Facilities: They are proud of their purpose-built Veterinary Hospital in Glasgow, which specialises in Orthopaedic referrals as well as primary care all year round. They can offer you a great caseload and kit including an excellent Ultrasound scanner, ECG, Endoscope and Bronchoscope, and regular visiting CT scanning.

The Role

The Lead Nurse will ensure that patients are managed as effectively as possible from a nursing perspective to support the profitability and further growth of the practice. Working enthusiastically with your team, you will help maintain a happy, efficient working environment whilst providing outstanding patient and client care. You will be able to assume a level of responsibility for the efficient running of the night RVN and PCA teams alongside the Head RVN. This will include providing line management, development, and performance reviews for the OOH Team. 

Hours: Nights The role is a 4 on 4 off shift pattern with the hours being 21:00-08:00

Weekends: In line with the rota

  • Applicant Requirements:
  • A minimum of 1 year’s post RVN registration
  • Experience of leading a team desirable
  • Mentoring experience an advantage
  • Confident in the use of IT internet browsers, packages, email and online
  • Excellent listening and communication skills
  • Team player
  • Highly organised with the ability to multitask, plan and prioritise effectively in accordance with business needs 
  • Proactive and well organised with an eye for detail 
  • Able to manage projects through to completion , meeting deadlines and targets
  • Remain calm under pressure
  • Problem solving 
  • Ability to make decisions that benefit the whole team not individuals

Salary: Competitive salary of up to £28,840 p/a that is reflective of skills and experience
