Services: Their service teams include orthopaedics, neurology, ophthalmology, internal medicine, clinical nutrition, oncology, soft tissue surgery, cardiology, dermatology, Emergency and Critical Care (ECC), anaesthesia, analgesia, diagnostic imaging, and physiotherapy. 

Facilities: They have extensive surgical and diagnostic facilities with a superbly equipped Intensive Care Unit. Your role: The successful applicant should have at least two years of postgraduate experience in small animal practice and share their values of providing the best possible levels of care. There will be ample support and great case exposure for those interested in enrolling on a certificate, or plenty of scopes to develop your skills further if you already have a postgraduate qualification. The position could also suit individuals with ambitions to undertake Specialist training in the future. 

Your responsibilities:

In contrast to other emergency services, the rota allows working during evenings and days with no dedicated overnight shifts. Emergency vets would work in a great hospital working closely with ECC specialists and interns, and working alongside regular primary care vets and specialists in multiple other disciplines, giving excellent support 

Learning and development are strongly supported 

They are therefore looking for: 

  • Vets qualified for at least a few years
  • Primary care experience very useful
  • Experience in emergency work also very useful 
  • All round lovely people who can fit into a team 

The Hours: This well-remunerated position has working hours consisting of 5–7 day blocks of dayshifts or backshifts (evenings) with some on-call. Weekend work would typically be 1:3 to 1:4; a rotating rota gives regular blocks of 14 days off to ensure an outstanding work-life balance.
