We are currently recruiting for a fantastic independent equine practice situated near Abergavenny, Monmouthshire. Beacons (45 minutes drive from Bristol and Cardiff). This practice is looking for a full-time permanent Veterinary Surgeon to join them from mid March 2018.
The Practice:
This practice is made up of 6.5 equine vets, 3 qualified nurses and a friendly team of support staff. The Practice aims to provide a high standard of customer service, excellent clinical care and a warm, friendly, supportive working environment for all staff. The practice has a large, loyal client base ranging from single horse owners to professional competition yards. The facilities include full inpatient facilities, diagnostic imaging department equipped with high resolution ultrasonography and an AGFA digital x-ray system. A surgical suite and induction room are also part of the facilities as well.
The Role:
The role is primarily an ambulatory role with the opportunity to spend time at the clinic either following up on individual cases, developing orthopaedic and diagnostic imaging experience with the in-house orthopod or working with visiting consultants. Soft tissue and orthopaedic cases are referred to this practice.
CPD is not only offered but encouraged with additional certificates supported as well. This practice has a fantastic orthopaedic surgeon who is happy to support a Vet who is eager to learn. Salary is dependent on experience.
The Candidate:
The successful candidate will ideally have 3+ years’ experience, be flexible and will hit the ground running. This practice is looking for a team player with an excellent level of customer service. The rota includes a 4-day week with 8am – 5:30pm days, a shared rota of 1:7 weekends and 1 night per week on call. To qualify for this position, the candidate will need to have a full driving license.
