Permanent Equine Veterinary Surgeon - Tarporley, Cheshire

Type: Equine

Location: Tarporley, Cheshire

Practice: They are a completely ambulatory equine practice with fully portable facilities allowing them to be able to offer all their services in the comfort of their own home or yard. They use the latest direct digital radiographic technology, ultrasound, digital endoscopic equipment, and equine dental power tools. For their clients wishing to bring their horses to them, they also have treatment and stabling facilities available within Cheshire.

Team: There is a very friendly, family atmosphere in the practice – everybody gets on well both at work and outside the work environment. Their office staff are massively supportive and understanding of the vets’ needs, especially new members of the team

Facilities: MRI, standing CT, surgical & hospitalization facilities. All the usual ambulatory equipment – digital endoscopy/gastroscopy plus each vet has DR X-ray and ultrasound in their vehicle.

A large part of your work will involve sport horse performance problems with horses ranging from novice level to international competition horses but they provide care for horses and ponies from all walks of life.

Duties:

  • Compared to similar practices the area they cover isn’t huge so you don’t spend hours driving between calls and the out of hours is generally quiet
  • They have a very friendly and loyal clientele
  • Each vet has their own, fully funded work vehicle – none are shared

Hours: This is a full-time role

OOHS: Due to their working relationship with a neighbouring practice the OOH rota is equally shared on a 1:4 basis and gives you easy access to MRI, standing CT, surgical & hospitalization facilities.

Vehicle Equipment: All the usual ambulatory equipment – digital endoscopy/gastroscopy plus each vet has DR X-ray and ultrasound in their vehicle.

Package:

  • They offer a competitive salary - that is reflective of skills and experience
