Permanent Head Registered Veterinary Nurse - Barnet

We are working with lovely practice in Barnet, North London that is looking for an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse to join them as their Head Veterinary Nurse. This is a full-time permanent role that would suit an RVN that has leadership skills essential to enable you team to work to the best of their abilities.

This lovely practice is run by an experienced vet and is located off of a busy high street with lots of coffee shops and options for lunch time treats! They are easily accessible with excellent transport links. They feed into an award winning Hendon 24-hour hospital where the exceptional care for patients is continued out-of-hours. They also have access to advanced equipment such as Ultrasound, Endoscopy, Arthroscopy, CT and MRI at Hendon. This homely practice has a range of veterinary facilities and services available, including a surgical theatre, X-ray, and a large garden. Joining a professional, personable team you’ll deliver exceptional care by going beyond consulting to listen and empathising, putting patients and clients first, always.

The Role and Candidate:

Our client is seeking a confident Registered Veterinary Nurse to join them as their Head Veterinary Nurse. This is a full-time role where you will be working 40 hours per week - 1:6 weekends and a fair share of bank holiday cover with time off in lieu and minimal on-call duties over the year, approx. 3 weeks to support their dedicated night team if required, enabling the development of your ECC skills and experience.

Key Accountabilities:

As well as your day-to-day duties within practice caring for your patients and clients, you will have the drive and ambition to develop the practice optimising the client and patient experience, promoting safety while training, developing, and leading the entire nursing team.

You’ll also be proactive in maintaining your own professional and clinical skills, carry out accurate and timely reporting and explore ways that we can further develop our standards.

Skills and Experience:

  • As an RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse, you’ll already have good knowledge of how a dynamic, practice runs efficiently and effectively.
  • Sharing our clients' values being trustworthy, caring, and progressive, you’ll also take the initiative in patient welfare and have caring, thoughtful communication skills.
  • Just as important are the leadership skills essential to enabling your team to work as one and look ahead to see how they can be even better.

The Package:

In return, our client is offering a competitive salary of £27,573 - £32,615 per annum depending on experience with a benefits package that includes:

  • £300 CPD allowance with 2-days CPD leave and in-house training available.
  • RCVS and BVNA membership.
  • 5 weeks annual leave plus bank holidays
