We are working with a busy practice based in Burgess Hill, who is looking for an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse to join them on a permanent full-time basis. Our client is looking at this position being a shared head nurse role (or recruiting a new head nurse and one of their current team as a strong deputy) would be sensible and reduce the load on a single person.

The Practice:

This is a happy, busy practice, that offers their clients a very high standard of care whilst maintaining a compassionate approach. The team includes 6 vets, 8 qualified nurses, a practice manager, and a great front of house team. Several team members are working towards certificates and diplomas, and as such, the practice is happy to support any area of interest which will increase the service offered to patients and clients.

The practice is modern and purpose-built, with equipment including digital X-ray, ultrasonography, in-house laboratory facilities, separate dog, cat, and isolation wards. They are also undergoing an extension this year.

The Role and Candidate:

Our client is a friendly team of 30 now, and they are looking at recruiting an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse to join them in a shared head nurse role (or recruiting a new head nurse and one of their current team as a strong deputy) would be sensible and reduce the load on a single person. Their practice manager is also an experience, qualified RVN so she would be very involved in helping any new candidate find their feet and get the support that they needed.

Hours wise (these are provisional but give an idea):  4 day week with Tuesday off every week, 1 full weekend a month (Sat 9-6, Sun 10-4), 1 late finish every other week (8 pm finish every other Friday), 8 am starts on Mon, Wed & Thursday,  roughly 40 hours per week. Would be really happy to support someone who wanted to do a nursing diploma just as they did for our current head nurse (she did aneasthesia). Salary depends on the role taken, experience - we do pay our nurses well as they do so much!

Benefits:

In return for your dedication and high-quality work, our client can offer a package that includes:

  • Excellent salary
  • Generous CPD
  • No out of hours requirement
  • Pension scheme
  • Paid memberships (RCVS, VDS, ISFM)
  • Great clients and lovely colleagues
