Permanent Head Veterinary Nurse - Greenwich

We are working with a lovely practice in Greenwich, South East London that is looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join them as their Head Veterinary Nurse. This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven and enthusiastic RVN to step up into a leadership role. 

The Practice: 

This practice boasts recently refurbished light and airy premises with RCVS PSS approval and facilities to include: Separate operating theatre, large prep room with areas for general prep and another for dental, separate cat and dog wards, digital radiography suite, and inhouse laboratory.

Located close to lots of shops, restaurants, cafes, bars, hairdressers and much more, which is all within walking distance of local train stations, making it easy to commute when parking is limited in London.

The Role:

Our client is looking for a Head Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their team. The clinic has a good surgical and medical caseload for a one vet branch and as head nurse at Woolwich, you have the opportunity to develop your own nurse clinics and use your initiative to promote new ideas with the team with the use of a dedicated consulting room.

This is a full-time permanent position, covering 40 hours per week Monday to Friday. You will also be part of a weekend rota, covering 1:5 full weekends with time off in lieu at their hospital practice.

On-call and bank holidays are on a generous fair shared rotations across nursing teams in the area to promote the upkeep and/or development of your hospital and ECC nursing skills and experience as well as a good work/life balance. 

The Candidate:

You will be a Qualified Veterinary Nurse that is registered with the RCVS for a minimum of 1-2 years.

Previous experience in leading a small team is beneficial, although not essential as training and development in the role is provided and supported. As the head nurse, you have the opportunity to develop your own nurse clinics and use your initiative to promote new ideas with the team.

Good knowledge and understanding of schedule 3 procedures are beneficial as opportunities are available.

Experience in clinical coaching/supervising student veterinary nurses or a desire to become a clinical supervisor is essential.

A full clean driving license is essential, as patient transportation using their company vehicles may be required on occasion.
